Story:

Vasikar (Rajinikanth) is a scientist who does research in Robotics and Sana (Aishwarya Rai) . He introduces a Robot (Chitti) and aspires to present it to Indian Defence to bolster their resistance mechanism. Chitti does all the unbelievable activities and rescues operations as well. However, Vasikar Professor Bohra (Danny) denies permission to send this to Defence on the grounds that Chitti is purely a Robot and kills anybody. Just when Vasikar is about to destroy, Chitti says that he loves Sana. Contrastingly the envious Bohra develops a killer Robot for terrorist activities. The plot unveils as to how Vasikar destroys the killer robot and wins SANA.

Analysis:

Robo is a science fiction movie and director Shankar does justice to the title. Stamping his authority on compute graphics, Shankar once again proved why he’s an ace filmmaker. The cost of the budget was clearly evident in songs and action episodes as Shankar truly depicts a passionate Robo story.

Robo review was the much awaited one, and we have to say that the movie’s technical competencies are on par with Hollywood. Against his conventional style of film making, Shankar has gone for the robot technology, but caught in a spot of bother in terms of story and screenplay. The story lacks the required fizz and intensity, and also did not end convincingly. Interestingly, in Robo, Rajnikanth also plays a negative shade in the form of killer robot.

From Rajinikanth’s viewpoint, he donned a different character as against her earlier movies, which has complete commercial dialogues as Robo movie runs entirely on Rajinikanth. Amidst these fantastical, futuristic images, Shankar keeps the flavour severely home- grown. But in the end, Robo is only technically brilliant – unrivalled and unsurpassed.

It’s not a great story and with twists and turns, but you can surely enjoy the roller coaster ride. The first half of Robo is exciting with high voltage graphics and entertainment. But the second half loses its firmness and rather becomes unconvincing towards the end.

Performances:

Superstar Rajinikanth delivers breath taking performance. However, don’t expect typical Rajnikanth dialogues in this film. As it goes, Rajni gets better with age.

Aishwarya Rai is aptly suited for her role and does well. Shankar captured her stunning visuals and looks in few tight close shots.
Danny is adequate.

Technicalities:

Music by AR Rahman is very good and the background score in action episodes is very thrilling. Couples of numbers are very well composed.

Computer graphics hogs limelight for Robo more than anything else. The CG work is world class and visuals are stunning. Rathnavelu, the cameraman does a fantastic job when it comes to close shots.

All in all, Robo is a technically proficient movie and its worth watching such a brilliantly made film. It’s the first of its kind movie in India for sure. Go watch for sheer computer life likes and ascribe to ace director Shankar.

After the completion of ‘Endhiran’ shooting last week all the eyes and ears of fans shifted focus on the music launch which is happening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Adding pep to the situation was Shankar’s statement that A R Rahman has handed over the final mix of the songs and they have come great.

Think Music Bags Endhiran Rights

But the news of the company releasing ‘Endhiran’ audio was kept in secrecy. We knew one music label each from Mumbai and Chennai vied for the coveted music. News was also out that the audio rights of ‘Endhiran’ have been purchased by at a monstrous price of around Rs.7 crores.

Now sources from kollywood say that the top most music label from Chennai ‘Think Music’ has bagged the audio rights of ‘Endhiran’. Think Music has released some of the biggest block buster music in recent times like Paiyaa, Kadhal Solla Vanthen, Naan Mahaan Alla, Baana Kathadi, Angadi Theru.

The shoot of the last song of Sun Pictures big budget, Shankar directed Endhiran (Robot) is over. It was shot at the state-of- the- art Sun Studios at Perungudi in Chennai.

The song will be a chartbuster and tuned by AR Rahman was picturised on Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai on a futuristic set created by Sabu Cyril.

The latest we hear is that the mixing of this prestigious film will take place in Los Angeles. Shankar is flying to US next week after the release of his S Pictures Anandhapurathu Veedu for the post production work of the biggie.

Meanwhile the grapevine is abuzz is that Endhiran audio will be launched in style at KL in Malaysia, on July 31 with the entire cast taking part. It will be the greatest show on Tamil television as Sun TV, the market leaders are planning to telecast it live!

The budget size of ‘Endhiran’ is getting bigger and bigger as it is nearing the D-day. The magnum opus of Shankar was touted to be a 100 crore project when it was launched in 2008.
Then it was said to be 120 cores and when Sun Pictures took over the film ‘Endhiran’ was billed as a 150 crore production. Now the new buzz is the cost of ‘Endhiran’ has touched around 200 crores.

The other news is that ‘Endhiran’ will be a mammoth worldwide release and the Rajinikanth starrer will also be released in China where the super star has a fan following just as in Japan. So to cater to all the markets ‘Endhiran’ will be out in more than 2000 pints so that there is no place in the world which is not touched by the magnetism of the super star.
We had already reported that the music launch of ‘Endhiran’ will happen in Malaysia. There will also be a music release function for the Tamil Nadu fans during the first week of August our sources say.

Shankar, Director of Endhiran has recently exclaimed in his blog that he was busy working for the post-production of Endhiran and that’s the reason he was not able to get in touch with the fans.

Director Shankar has also exclaimed in the blog that every small information and still he posted about endhiran in his blog has created a lot of interest and expectation among the audience.

Shankar has slowed down posting in his blog just to avoid this hype and expectation.

Now a Stunt Sequence of the movie has got released.  The Stunt sequences of endhiran are being done by a chinese stunt master. The fight sequence is being performed by Alex martin wearing a mask as superstar.

According to the latest Kollywood grapevine, Shankar’s Endhiran will have a full-monty performed by Rajini. Although full-monty scenes are not quite unseen in Tamil cinema (Kamal has done it in Aalavandaan and Siddharth in Boyz), Rajini doing such a scene will be the highlight.

We hear this might be the opening scene of the movie, which was shot recently at SUN studios since AVM is vulnerable to leakage of such top secret news (that the news is leaked in the media anyway is immaterial). Only Rajini, Shankar and cinematographer Ratnavel were present during the shoots, it is learnt.

With days moving on, Rajinikanth fans all over the world waiting for the audio songs of the much awaited movie “Endhiran” to get released soon.

The Music Score for Endhiran is done by A.R.Rahman who won two oscars for his original score in “Slumdog Millionaire”. A.R.Rahman’s Latest Tamil Release Vinnnaithandi Varuvaya Songs were a huge hit in the market.

Today Shankar has posted in his blog that he is going on to the last schedule of Endhiran shooting. In that he has said that the final song Endhiran  is yet to be recorded and shot. Only because of this the Audio launch is delayed. Once that is over Endhiran Audio Launch date will be announced.

Rajinikanth’s latest Tamil film ‘Endhiran’ seems to be taking both Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh by storm. Rajinikanth has a huge fan base among Telugu Diaspora across the world and it’s a known fact that most of his films enjoy bumper openings and long run in Andhra Pradesh as well.

Keeping all these factors in mind, two leading producers from Telugu film Industry are said to be competing to secure the complete rights of ‘Robo’ for entire Andhra Pradesh. Sources say that these producers have quoted a whopping sum of Rs.26 crores for the complete rights including the Satellite rights for the film. We will have to wait and see who would have the last laugh in securing these rights of Rajinikanth and Shankar’s magnum opus!

The whole of South India is abuzz over the rumour that director S. Shankar’s forthcoming Tamil science fiction fiilm Endhiran would be super star Rajinikanth’s last film. But why? Because the actor has reportedly finally decided to enter politics!

This speculations began after Rajinikanth did not show any interest in a sequel to the blockbuster Chandiramukhi when he was approached by director P. Vasu. Rajinikanth reportedly replied: “We’ll look into it after the release of Endhiran,” sources said. Moreover, the superstar’s elder brother Sathya Narayana Rao has openly stated that the actor would probably make his entry into politics after Endhiran.

For the last few weeks, Shankar has been busy shooting the climax scenes of Endhiran, starring Aishwarya Rai as heroine. Some parts of the climax were shot at the SIPCOT industrial estate in Sirucheri.

The makers will soon move to Prasad Studio, where a huge set has been put up to shoot a fight scene which will be picturised as the whole set will go up in flames.
