The wait for the much awaited movie of year is  getting over. After many ifs and buts, Sun Pictures today officially announced that Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Endhiran will hit the screeens on October 1.

In a statement, the production wing of Sun TV Network has confirmed that the mega movie directed by Shankar will see the light of the day on October 1 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi all over the world.

It may be recalled that Endhiran was censored and was given a U certificate a couple of days ago. With big names like A R Rahman, Shankar, Rathnavelu coming together, hype and expectations are high on this mega-budget movie.

Two men including a production manager of director Shankar, who tried to sell the Telugu rights of the film Endhiran using forged documents have been arrested by police.

The Chennai police arrested Udaya Kumar, Shankar’s production manager and Surendran an employee of Tirupathi Tirumala Films for creating fake documents and claiming that Sun Pictures has sold the rights of the film to them for Rs 27 Crore. The duo then contacted theatres in Andhra Pradesh and collected Rs 2 crore from them as advance amount.

Meanwhile, Hansraj Saxena, COO of Sun Pictures officially said, “So far no rights of Endhiran has been sold to anyone. We have filed a complaint against Udaya Kumar and his friend Surendiran for forging documents.”

Kalanidhi Maran, producer of the upcoming big budget Tamil movie Endhiran has realized the worth of the star power of his movie and hence, decided not to sell the dubbed Telugu version for less than Rs 30 crores.

The movie features two big stars Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and has music by Oscar winning composer AR Rahman. The music album of the movie is already a big hit and has made it to the top of chartbusters in less than a week of its release on July 31.

The movie is likely to hit the screens on September 3, 2010 along with its Telugu version titled Yanthram.

As per the sources, the Rajinikanth starrer Sivaji producer and distributor Bellamkonda Suresh has quoted around Rs 20 crores to get the Telugu dubbing rights of Endhiran. Two other leading Telugu film producers have reportedly quoted Rs 23 crores and Rs 26 crores respectively. The final decision is likely to come out in next few days.

The Stars have all come down to malaysia for the biggest Event in Tamil Cinema,Endhiran Audio release. The mega stars behind the movie: Hero Super Star Rajinikanth, Director Shankar, Music Composer A.R. Rahman, Lead Lady Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Producer Kalanithi Maran, lead the starry ensemble at the Putrajaya Convention Center at Kuala Lumpur – the venue for this mammoth event. Every celebrity that took to the dais, reiterated the enormity of the event in terms of star power and also profusely thanked Sun Pictures M.D., Kalanidhi Maran not only for financing the movie, but also for putting together such an event.

The Master of Ceremony for the event was comedian Vivek, who was joined from time-to-time by popular TV show host Punnagai Poo Geetha from Malaysia. Vivek was at his comedic best and his digs were taken in the right spirit by the stars and the audience.

The evening was divided into two segment: the first being Tributes to the mega stars in the movie and the second being the actual Music Release. Photo Montages and medleys to which members of dance master Kala’s troupe danced, was how each tribute was put together. For instance the tribute to Sun Pictures comprised of stills from movies presented by them, projected on a screen on the stage, while dancers performed to a Medley of songs picked from those movies. Similar tributes for A.R. Rahman, Shankar and Rajinikanth came up next. The only tribute with a changed format, was Aishwarya’s. A six member team of Shaolin Monks performed a breathtaking choreography at the end of which Rajni himself stood up and applauded.

The stars who performed for the various tributes were Rahasya, Vijayalakshmi, Poorna and Sherin. Simbu, on the request of Vivek, did an impromptu performance in the tribute to the Super Star. He did well in imitating Rajni’s stylish moves, while also showing off his own grace and grooves. While most of the heads of the various technical departments of Endhiran were present, several celebs who have no role to play in the movie, showed their goodwill and support by attending the event and even saying a few words on the stage. The stars being Jayam Ravi, Vadivel, Karunas, Simbu, Shriya, Ramya Krishnan, Radharavi and director Shiva Shakthi Pandian.

The second segment was the Music Release, for which Rajni, Shankar, Ash Rai, A.R.R., Vairamuthu and Kalanidhi Maran were requested to place their palms on a touchscreen built into a podium on the stage, one after the other. After the last person had done so, a robotic voice announced that their identities had received clearance and the Endhiran Music CD popped out from a slit beside the screen. While in all other such functions the CD is presented from one dignitary to another, to mark the release of the music album, here Kalanidhi Maran was asked to hold up the CD, as if presenting it to the audience, implying that on an occasion such as this, there was nobody bigger than the audience. The CD having been released, a short trailer of the movie was screened. Getting a glimpse of the movie and the two roles played Rajni, had the audience even more thrilled. The hoots and applause tore through the auditorium. Following this, dance performances to the Endhiran songs, interspersed with speeches from the Five Top stars of the movie took place. Each star in their own way appreciated Shankar’s vision, Rajni’s simplicty and Kalanidhi Maran’s benevolence.

The biggest news came when Sun Pictures VP Saxena took to the stage to deliver a Vote of Thanks. Besides thanking everybody from the movie, the Sun Pictures team and the event organizers, he announced that the movie will release in September in all three languages. The finality in the announcement brought squeals of joy from the audience. No better way to bring this fab evening to an end than with an announcement such as this!

Amitabh Bachchan, widely called as the Big B  in the industry, is voicing the robot in “Endhiran”. Sankar, director, sensed his voice absolutely apt for his robot in the movie.

Shankar paid visit at Mr. Bachchan’s abode and has been constantly in contact with him since then. Shankar aspires to fill every nook of the movie with perfection that is why he is seeking Big B’s acceptance.

“Endhiran” is a science fiction that has robot as pivot around which the whole plot is woven. The robot, played by Rajnikanth, gets transformed into human being and fused in the society. He becomes humane and falls in love with Aishwarya and here comes the twist. The invented story of the movie is set up in the backdrop of 23rd century.

Mr. Bachchan has taken Shanker’s proposal into consideration.  If the robot gets the voice of Big B, it will intensify the feelings of robot. It is mega project of Rs.190 crores that was accomplished recently with the shoot of the song on Rajnikanth and Aishwarya.

The whole cast and crew painted the town red in the party thrown by producer of the movie, Kalanithi Maran. Shanker was too in high spirits and performed conventional pumpkin-breaking pooja for the first time.

The shooting of the film Endhiran which has been in shooting for the past two years has been finished. Sun pictures is the producer of the film.

Producer Mr. Kalanithi Maran gave a big party on July 9th for the crew.

The shooting of the much awaited film Endhiran starring superstar  Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai has been wrapped up on 7th July, Director Shankar exclaimed in his blog.

The film ended with the shooting of the song sung by A.R.Rahman and choreographed by Remo at Sun Studios.

Shankar has expressed that he is very happy at that moment. He also said that he is doing the the pumpkin breaking pooja (poosanika udaikiradhu) for the first time in his movie  with the lead stars Rajnikanth & Aishwarya Rai.

Director Shankar has also exclaimed it is as though a cricket match last over.

He said it is like the end of a college that everyone is happy with a heay heart.

The shoot of the last song of Sun Pictures big budget, Shankar directed Endhiran (Robot) is over. It was shot at the state-of- the- art Sun Studios at Perungudi in Chennai.

The song will be a chartbuster and tuned by AR Rahman was picturised on Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai on a futuristic set created by Sabu Cyril.

The latest we hear is that the mixing of this prestigious film will take place in Los Angeles. Shankar is flying to US next week after the release of his S Pictures Anandhapurathu Veedu for the post production work of the biggie.

Meanwhile the grapevine is abuzz is that Endhiran audio will be launched in style at KL in Malaysia, on July 31 with the entire cast taking part. It will be the greatest show on Tamil television as Sun TV, the market leaders are planning to telecast it live!
